Phishing (Phishing emails, scams)
Phishing is a term used to describe email scams that attempt to replicate an existing and trustworthy site in order to gain usernames and passwords. An example of phishing emails would those that appear to be from a bank claiming that the readers need to log in used an included link to view suspicious activity on their account. Instead of pointing to the secure site owned by the bank the link takes one to a visually similar site where any login information is then sent to the phisher for whatever malicious purposes they see fit.
