Amazon has agreed to purchase Quidsi, the company that owns diapers.com and soap.com for around $550 million.
Quidsi operates a number of large health and beauty online retail websites, which will soon enter into Amazon's company portfolio. Amazon will purchase all of Quidsi's company shares worth £500 million and service around $45 million of company debt.
Jeff Bezos the founder of Amazon said: "This acquisition brings together two companies who are committed to providing great prices and fast delivery to parents."
All websites will continue to operate under their own names. It is Amazons biggest company acquisition since it bought online shoe retailer Zappos in 2009.
The deal which has been agreed in principle between both companies is expected to be finalized next month.
