Amazon have today revealed that sales of digital e-books have overtaken sales of real books
For every 100 real books it sold, it also sold 143 e-books. The company has also stated that sales of its Kindle e-book reader have increased since its price was slashed from $260 to $190. Since its launch two years ago, it has consistently been the website's most purchased product.
Amazon's kindle bookstore now offers more than 630,000 digital titles.
Technology research firm Forrester estimated that sales of digital e-book readers will reach six million this year. That is double the amount sold in 2009.
