The US government has shut down more than 70 websites that contain either illegal digital content or counterfeit goods.
Websites which have been seized, now contain a homepage posted by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency that confirms the domains seizure and also information about copyright infringement.
It does however appear that many of the websites have now been set-up under new domain names in an attempt to keep them running.
The move follows the recent closure of Limewire and also the closure of Pirate Bay.
