Figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show that internet sales hit a record high during November 2010.
The figures show that more consumers were choosing to purchase their Christmas presents online rather than in the shops.
Although there would have been concerns that the bad weather may stop presents from being delivered on time, internet sales accounted for 10% of all retail sales during November. This was an increase from the previous year, where 7% of all sales were online.
