Smartphone developers HTC, are currently hiring staff to develop its own app store according to a report in the Financial Times.
The paper claims that two unnamed people "with knowledge of the situation" have informed them that HTC is currently recruiting content editors to develop the store which will sell e-books and applications.
Whether the source is true or not, it’s a logical step forward as HTC aims to compete with other Smartphone developers offering content for its devices.
Apple continues to be the market leader for Smartphone applications, but the Google Android appears to be keeping up with the pace.
