When both consoles are released in the US, the PlayStation is going to be 25% more expensive, around $100 less than the Xbox One.
In recent years Microsoft Xbox has outsold the Sony PlayStation and many feel that Microsoft have shown an overconfidence in their pricing model.
Microsoft announced the price of it's new console in front of the media in Los Angeles. Many gamers and journalists attending the event were surprised by the price of the console.
One of the reasons for the price difference is that the Xbox One comes with a Kinect sensor. Sony offers a similar device called the PlayStation Eye, but it will come as a separate purchase.
Both companies unveiled their new consoles last week. While both are very similar in their support for a wide range of popular games, both have different features. Microsoft appears to be more focused on the home entertainment market offering TV integration, while Sony appears to be focused on gamers.
