This professional package may not be the most comprehensive in terms of features or the slickest in terms of layout, but the WebConCentral application is an integrated, one-package option for your web conferencing needs. We like the speed with which the application deals with different content and images, the simplicity of the layout and the flexibility of the pricing.

WebConCentral is billed as a one-stop-shop for your web conferences, with audio and video combined in a neat package. How does WebConCentral stack up against bigger competitors in the market? We took a look at the service to find out.


The pricing plan from WebConCentral is relatively simple and easy to understand. You pay for the number of people who attend your meetings and also the number of hosts you have per meeting. The highest-priced package is the $99 per month plan which gives you space for 300 participants and seven meeting hosts. The $79 per month plan is for 100 participants and five meeting hosts. Both these plans allow you to hold three meetings at the same time. For $49 per month you get space for 50 people and for three meeting hosts, as well as being able to hold two meetings at the same time. There are no long-term contracts involved so you can scale up or down if you need to.

Conferencing features

Web conferences take place through VoIP technology so all attendees need a computer with microphone and speakers. Attending a meeting is simple using the unique login details provided for each meeting. Hosts only see the number of people in attendance, however, and not who they are. Once in attendance, you can draw and annotate texts and documents.

Presenter features

WebConCentral offers a few features for your money when it comes to presenting and running an online meeting. For a start there are a number of ways in which you can share content during the meeting – share one application or window while the system follows you as you open others, show your whole desktop, or share only one application so that other attendees cannot see what else you are opening. You can pass on these presenter control tools to another attendee so they can guide the meeting. And you can present websites to the attendees while they have the option of clicking on different links or viewing the site in their own way. Additional polling and survey tools complete the picture.

WebConCentral allows for recording of meetings so you can playback the results later on. And at the end of the meeting attendees are directed to a virtual exit lobby where your website is displayed.

Video & audio

We like the fact that the video and audio systems in this web conferencing application are well integrated. Participants talk via VoIP and there is capacity for video streaming, as well as additional toll-free telephone conferencing. The video is good quality and the audio system works well.


WebConCentral is 128-bit encrypted and to enrol in a meeting you need a unique ID – the only people who can access the meeting are the ones with the ID. The capacity exists for hosting a secure and private version of the software on your own computer system, too.

Ease of use

The WebConCentral system is not hard to understand and because it is not packed with features it is easy to navigate. The layout of the dashboard is well-planned and you won’t find it difficult to handle or attend a meeting. The lack of complexity in the features works against you, however, when you want extra functionality from the system.

Call the support team Monday through Friday during business hours with any technical or feature-based questions about the WebConCentral system. Browse a number of training videos on the WebConCentral features in order to learn more if you are having trouble hosting a good meeting. It’s a shame there isn’t a live chat or email ticket system for people who don’t want to phone in.


The WebConCentral online conferencing service is simple but basic – you’ll find a greater number of features in other providers’ systems. The interface is easy to navigate but it doesn’t look as professional as some other the others on the market. In short, WebConCentral is a good basic offering but larger companies and those that want a more professional meeting experience would be best to look elsewhere.
