NTI develops and supports a variety of digital media and storage management software with the goal of delivering powerful and user-friendly software. We decided to give NTI’s data backup software, Backup Now a try.

Setup

Installing NTI Backup Now is very basic. Download the setup file from the product website and launch it onto your computer. Look through a few menus and agreements, type in your product key you received after purchase, and then restart your computer.

Backup

Backing up data couldn’t be easier with NTI Backup Now’s three-step process. First, users will choose what type of files they want to include or exclude from their backups. Users can also elect to use a more traditional style of backing up using the File-Based Backup, which is simply check marking the files they want backed up.

Next, users must select where they want the backup files to reside. Files can be backed up to external hard drives, networks, CDs, DVDs and more. During this step, users will also customize how many previous versions of files they want saved after there are changes to the files.

Last, the scheduling of the backup must be selected. Users can perform backups hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or use a continuous backup system. The continuous backup system will update your backup every time a change is made to a backed-up file.

System performance

NTI Backup Now is very minimal on computer resources, even while performing a backup. This is good considering it supports continuous backups where they can happen at any time. Don’t worry about your system slowing down with NTI Backup Now.

Restore

The restores are as easy and error free as you can find. Simply follow another three-step process and you’ll have your files back in no time. There are multiple options you can select during the restore process. You can restore whole drives or individual files. You will also have to select if they want all of their files restored to one location or to the files’ original locations. The whole process is fairly quick; most customers will be very satisfied.

Continuous backup - Every version of your files from the point you create a backup will be kept. Any change you make to your files will be automatically backed up and updated.

Create recovery disc - quickly restore your hard drive to its previous state with a CD/DVD. If your system becomes unstable, a recovery disc on-hand is a lifesaver.

Ease of use

NTI Backup Now is extremely user-friendly with its simple three-step program. The program is clearly geared toward beginner users, but advanced users can easily dive deeper into the program and discover some of the programs more advanced, customizable options. Those looking for a simple program that is easy to use will enjoy NTI Backup Now.

Help & support

Support for NTI Backup Now is far from impressive. The support page doesn’t offer much help to its paying customers. The page insists that users who have already purchased an installed the product contact customer support though email; however, it insists those who have not ordered the product call them directly. This seems like a slap in the face to paying customers who get no phone support.

Overall

You can't go wrong with NTI Backup Now 7. 5 It might not be the best you can buy, but it’s a rock-solid program for backing up data. Enjoy the feeling of knowing that all of your will always be backed up properly with NTI Backup Now; however, If you’re looking for those extra features to give your product a little more flare, you may want to look elsewhere.
